Your Lawyer Will Not Return Your Calls.

No one really wants to tell you what is going on and everyone in the office gives you an excuse. Lawyers are busy and here is what could be going on.

Lawyers have high aspirations to help others.

Your lawyer could be avoiding telling you the unpleasant truth. He/She may avoid you until they can figure a way to solve a problem in your case. This may take lots of research and they will call when they have a strategy, or the problem solved.

Your lawyer is working on a high-profile case.

You are not your lawyer’s only client, and your business alone will not pay your lawyer’s bills. Efficient clients who know how to get to the point and move on are more likely to get a return call.

Lawyers meet crucial deadlines.

The law has statutes of limitations and if they are missed it could be a grave mistake in the case. They spend hours researching and preparing each case.

They have lots of meetings.

Meetings with clients, interviewing witnesses, taking depositions, and new clients. Lawyers are not just sitting around talking like we think they are.

There is nothing new happening.

Many cases have periods of intense activity and then little to no activity. If interrogatories are sent to the opposing party it takes about a month for answers. When discovery is done you are just waiting for trial and it can take months to get in front of a judge. If there is nothing to tell you, there is no reason to talk to you.

You ask the same questions over and over.

You don’t like the answers you received and no matter how many times something is explained to you, you ask the same question or change up the question. You hope the answer will change into something you want to hear. You are wasting your lawyers time and they can’t help you face reality

Teachers Silent About Child Suicide In Family Court Cases

A teacher messaged a divorce coach and stated, “Unless you are a teacher in _____, you would not know about the suicide by children caused by the family court.” Teachers who have children in their classroom and know of parents custody battle see the other parent obtain custody and then they hear of that child committing suicide. No one else is close to children that they could mentally track this happening. A mother's children went to a charter school when she went through a divorce. The parents did ride share with the neighbor. The neighbor eventually had to come to the mother to let her know that when it was the former spouses time to get the kids, he was not picking up her kids per the agreement everyone had. He would not get the children from school and would never notify her he was not getting the children. He would also go see the children at lunch and tell them he was going to get them after school and to not go with the rideshare mom. The school was getting ve...

Mothers Leaving An Abusive Relationships Are In Shock

Mothers are leaving an abusive relationship and the abusive father are gaining custody of the children. The domestic violence manuals state that if there is a personal protection order in the case, the father is not allowed to have unsupervised visitations, let alone custody. What is truly happening is mothers are given supervised visitations and the fathers are given custody. These mothers believe the family courts will protect them and their children. Personal Protection Orders (PPO) are obtained and quickly she realizes they are a joke. Judges rarely hold the abuser accountable for violating the order. After all, it’s just a piece of paper. Imagine your abuser showing up for visitations and threatening to “beat your ass” or burn your car. You left the relationship so you and your children can be safe, but you and your children are not safe, and no one will help you. You go to court and the visitation drop off and pick up changed to the police department parking lot....
